Casa Lu

This hotel was pure perfection! Beautiful ocean view , fun pool and incredible service! We came late at night cause of a bad experience somewhere else and they were so welcoming, offered to help get the luggage from the other hotel, and made sure we had everything we needed. We woke up to the sounds of the waves and a beautiful view of the ocean. They gave us a late checkout, we had breakfast and drinks at the pool and enjoyed the views. Highly recommended!

Casa Lu is incredible! Great location directly on the beach in Mazunte! The perfect spot for a couple's vacation - as the property is "adults only". The rooms are large and spacious with a very comfy king bed! The bathrooms are large with a nice big shower and waterfall shower head! We stayed in both the upstairs and downstairs rooms during our two stays in Oct and Nov 2025. The upstairs has a great view of the ocean with a large balcony (and an awesome hammock). The downstairs room has a sitting area outside the room and gives you quick and easy access to the pool area. The pool is so nice! Since the ocean outside of the hotel is tough for swimming (due to the currents and large waves), the pool is a perfect spot to enjoy a cold drink and cool dip! The service from ALL of the staff was top notch. Every thing we requested was delivered quickly and with a smile! We can't wait to return!

This place does everything right. Not too much, not too little. Simple but elegant rooms. Cold AC, nice bathroom. The pool is amazing and a perfect place to hang and go to the beach for a swim. Love that they keep the music down and only at the bar. The food at the restaurant and bar is great as well. Worth going even if you don’t stay. The staff is also warm and very considerate. Hope to come again.

This hotel is a litlle paradise, it is a small hotel of 12 rooms which is really great and relaxing. Everything is perfect, we had the best time thanks to René and Abigail great advice and assistance. There is an amazing snorkel site 100m from the hotel where you can see many kind of fish. Don't hesitate to come you won t regret it.

I don’t typically write reviews, but the team at Casa Lu truly deserves one. The property is beautiful, and the service—from check-in to housekeeping, the grounds team, and the restaurant—is consistently top-notch. The rooms offer stunning, tranquil views, and the location is perfect for exploring town, enjoying the beach, and visiting nearby areas. Rene was incredibly helpful in arranging scooter rentals and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The food is excellent, and the cocktails are just as impressive. Highly recommend.

Wow. Just wow. I know how long researching hotels can take, but I hope this review shortcuts things and saves you time - just book it - I promise that you won’t regret it. Having had a last minute disaster with other accommodation, I knocked on the doors of Casa Lu at 10pm to see if they had any space. Not all heroes wear capes, but Rene honestly saved me - he was unbelievably kind and offered me a room at the last minute, even offering to help me bring my bags from the other hotel. The theme continued and all of the staff were so kind and helpful. I said that I had gotten mild food poisoning from somewhere nearby and they offered me tea, they offered me some aloe vera for my burns - nothing was too much trouble and they didn’t do things out of obligation - they did it out of genuine kindness. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. It’s perfectly located half way down the main beach and right by the main road (although far enough away that it’s so peaceful and quiet there), with really comfy private sun beds on the beach and wonderful cocktails. The pool is also beautiful and the rooms are clean, super comfortable, and have views of the ocean when you wake up. The breakfast was also lovely. Really can’t fault my stay there - it was flawless. Even though the hotel is slightly pricier than others nearby, having had the nightmare I had with another hotel, I would say the extra money for the peace of mind that it buys you by staying at Casa Lu is 10/10 worth it for the hassle-free time that you will have there. After a nightmare experience at the haunted, hot hotel La valise, we Lucked into a room here at casa Lu for our honeymoon. It was perfect. Beautiful pool, great food, comfortable room with cold ac, and thoughtful touches like foot baths so you don’t track sand into your room and a little library of books. The pool is and the hammocks in coconut trees are like something from a film. This place was exactly what we hoped to find while on our honeymoon in Oaxaca. Stay here- you will be happy!
